Photo of the Week: Central Liquor

Posted by pqresident
February 28, 2009

Central Liquor

The Photo of the Week is of the neon sign of Central Liquor on F Street NW between 9th and 10th taken by Flickr user afagen who tagged it with pqliving. The bright red, yellow and orange hue combined with a partial window reflection caught our eye. Is this a landmark sign downtown?

Tag your Flickr photos with pqliving and we’ll check them out for posting as Photo of the Week.

I love that sign and love the store. The “wine brothers” are great, slowly changing around the inside to offer better access to their beer, wine, and liquor. I wish they stayed open later (they close at 8 pm most nights), but that’s a minor complaint.

I think their liquor license requires them to close at 8PM. Could be wrong, but they told me that once.

I love this store. Its a great mix of old and new and the sign is wonderful. — And right next door to Cowgirl Creamery to pick up wine to go with the cheese. Zola Wine and Kitchen is also great — just a different vibe. Hope both of them stick around for a long time to come
