Is the new coffee shop going in next to Chinatown market (or whatever the name is of the market at the corner of 5th and H that used to sell singles)?
We desperately need a local roaster/coffee shop. Time for folks to find out more about this business. Any clues?
If there’s no demand for a coffee shop at that location, it’ll go out of business. I’d rather have a coffee shop there than the current empty storefront. Judging by the lack of “Starbucks” or “Caribou Coffee” on the permit application, it appears to be an indy business (hopefully), the dearth of which is the subject of frequent complaints on this board.

The residential side of 801 is renovating over the next few months. 701 isn’t far behind.
