John Waters speaks about Cy Twombly’s Letter of Resignation
The American Pictures Distinguished Lecture Series offers a highly original approach to art and portraiture. This series pairs great works of art with leading figures of contemporary American culture. The series director of American Pictures is Adam Goodheart, director of the C. V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience at Washington College.

Decipher codes, follow treasure maps, send text messages (bring your text enabled cell phone), and uncover hidden objects in this multimedia scavenger hunt. Register in the Luce Foundation Center between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the day of the event. Allow approximately 90 minutes to complete. The SunTrust National Marathon is on Saturday morning. Except for a stretch of the route along Constitution, it mostly goes around the neighborhood, but it could pose trouble for people who intend to move about the rest of the city.
