Smithsonian Craft Show Delights
Ed. Note: We’d like to welcome MVTResident to PQ Living for her first solo post. She will be adding the Mount Vernon Triangle outlook to PQ Living.
Long before I moved to Washington, DC, I discovered the Smithsonian Craft Show. This week and for the 26th year, the Smithsonian Craft Show will be open from April 10 through 13 during daylight and some nighttime hours at the National Building Museum. This show combines two of my favorite things – viewing the work of talented artists and buying wearable art, jewelry, furniture and other wonderful crafts.
What I have found over the years is that many of the beautiful crafts that I see at this show I later find in stores for double and triple the price. These artists are at the leading edge of their crafts and can be considered investment décor, art and clothing.

You know, despite the fact that we lived in Mass Court for a few months before our condo was ready, Mrs Columbo & I never went into the Building Museum together. To give her credit, Mrs C has attended events at the building museum before, but I have never been inside.
This sounds like a fun event to finally get my lazy behind in there. Thanks MVTResident!
