Snow Hits Washington DC & Ford’s Theatre Cancels Today’s Christmas Carol Performances
Snow Hits Washington DC (Including The PQ)
The weather forecasters seem to be on the mark and it certainly is snowing at a good clip in downtown Washington DC. A reader sent in the photo you see to the right and you can see that street surfaces are covered and visibility is poor. The latest WaPo report indicates snowfall totals will likely be in the 8 to 16 inch range with 2 to 3 inch per hour snowfall rates developing during the day today. Stay tuned to local media for updates and advisements. Send in your photos to pqliving [at] gmail.com or tag them with ‘pqliving’ on flickr and we’ll pick them up later in the day.

Many area restaurants & bars are open! Even Rocket Bar is keeping its door open and periodically shoveling the sidewalk directly in front of it.
We happened to have had a reservation at Ruth’s Chris tonight and they called us late this morning to tell us that they would be closed. Definitely caught me by surprise that they called us.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I was just out with the dog and was impressed by how much snow removal has gone on. SAAM/Portrait is cleared, much of 7th St is also plowed; the streets have had at least one going-over, and buses are running.
I bumped into a friend who was on her way to open a store, and restaurants were taking deliveries.
Snow or no snow, the neighborhood is always open.
