Most large shows travel with at least a semi or two — especially the first national tour.
Its when a show whittles down to the small “bus and truck” version that you should be wary of the production — usually the 2nd or 3rd return, or playing small cities — and play for only a few days.
Some shows work better without the flash. I remember a bus and truck version of Les Miz that had to focus on the story and not the monsterous barricade — it played beautifully.
Yes there actually were two semi’s for the production, but only the one in the photo was decorated quite so loudly.
