Street Sense Silent Auction This Thursday
We buy Street Sense, the homeless charity produced “street” newspaper, from time to time to catch the vibe about what’s happening on downtown DC’s concrete and asphalt. It’s got a perspective you just wouldn’t get otherwise and we do like the program as it gets homeless people engaged in an enterprise that teaches them skills they can use to lift themselves out of their situation.
Street Sense is hosting Movin’ On Up, its 3rd Annual Silent Auction & Reception fundraiser, this Thursday, October 2 at the Josephine Butler Park Center at 2437 15th St, NW. Tickets start at $25 a piece for access to the auction, endless appetizers, beer and wine, and great fun with Street Sense vendors, board and staff.
