“That’s Hot!” Says Food & Wine Mag
Normally we hear Paris Hilton saying “That’s hot!” but in this case it was Food & Wine magazine’s November 2007 issue pointing out these hottie culinary outlets in downtown DC:
- Brasserie Beck (1101 K St NW)
- Central (1101 Penn Ave NW)
- Oyamel (401 7th St NW)
- Proof (775 G St NW)
- Cowgirl Creamery (919 F St NW)
The section’s sidebar declares the PQ to be a “Hot Neighborhood” and tacks on mentions for:
- PS 7’s (777 I St NW)
- D’Acqua (801 Penn Ave NW)
- The Source (575 Penn Ave NW) (Wolfgang Puck’s new restaurant in The Newseum)
Thanks to PQ Living commenter Anon #7 – Best Neighborhoods To Retire for pointing out the F & W reference.

Our neighborhood is really becoming Washington’s epicenter of food. I’ve heard rumor that we’re scheduled to get a new “steak house” from a “renowned chef.” Does anyone have any clues? I saw some designs for the restaurant interior, but I couldn’t get any specifics about the chef or the restaurant itself. It was striking though.
Jacky Cafe delivers, and they are pretty good. Armand’s Pizza also delivers to us.
Delivery options could definitely serve as its own posting sometime in the future.
I’ve also received delivery from Schezwan Gourmet, large portions for cheap prices but not the best quality food.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Does anybody have a list of restaurants that deliver in the PQ area? I only know of Dominos, Thai Chili/Sushi-Go-Round, and Kanlaya.
