The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year?
We’re no Scrooges, but we were surprised to see the Washington Welcome Center replace the Redskins display with an xmas tree (Christmas tree? Holiday tree? Dead tree? Fake tree?) so early in the year. Seeing a department store pull out the xmas holiday displays before Halloween is common practice these days, but we were still taken aback by the WWC’s display with more than 2 months remaining till xmas.
Hell they should at least wait till after the Drag Race!

if you want drag there’s always Drag Brunch at Perry’s on Sundays.
The Giant in Columbia Heights had a christmas display up back in mid-september. It’s never too early to start christmas.
I look forward to the holiday decorations eventually going up around PQ especially as the nights grow longer, but shucks, can we enjoy the autumn first?
…and Hmmm, it would seem to me that “The War on Christmas” is being provoked by people like those at the DC Welcome center (who seem to think that Christmas trees should be displayed before we have even bought our Thanksgiving turkeys). If the tree is there to signify something spiritual I’d forgive it, but I suspect it is there to signify dropping everything to start buying stuff. Ugh!

I keep my Christmas tree up year-round!
