Per WaPo, it looks like Jemal is saving the Waffle Shop, likely in the Mount Vernon or southern Shaw area. Will it be the same as it was on 10th Street?

I’m sad this place is leaving. Quite frankly there are already tons of empty office and storefront space in Gallery Place. And the storefronts that are filled are done so with chain restaurants or high-end eateries. I loved the fact that I could get a cheap and decent breakfast (not a high priced brunch) within walking distance of my house.
Have you tried the Lincoln House (aka new Waffle Shop) Claire? it’s just a few store fronts down from the old Waffle Shop, and the food is just as good/cheap w/ the Same staff.

I for one have been very happy with the new (and improved?) waffle shop at the Lincoln House. Space feels bigger, it’s cleaner, food is just as good (better?). Same nice staff. I’ve had breakfast there several weekends in a row, it’s great.
