The first 250 kids to show up at Olsson’s-Penn Quarter will receive a free paperback copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, courtesy of The Washington Latin School and Olsson’s. One book per child. Sorry, adults. 12 to 2 p.m. while books last.

Spelling Bee In Downtown DC Today & Tomorrow
The National Spelling Bee championship began today in DC, at the Grand Hyatt Washington. Preliminaries began at 8 am, quarterfinals at 2 pm, and then the semifinals (ESPN) & championship finals (ABC) are tomorrow (10 am & 8 pm respectively).
