- FYI, Saw a truck unloading small items into the Balducci’s space, but not sure whether it means anything. Any buzz?
Has anyone seen more activity or spoken with the construction workers?

Sorry pushing away this week in anticipation of the long weekend; no PennQuarter farmer’s today…won’t be walking past “the grocery site” this afternoon
more likely Balducci people taking their stuff out of, instead taking stuff into, the premises. Not holding my breath.
walking up 7th Street NW headed towards the Verizon Center metro, I spotted construction equipment outside the Balducci doors with construction trucks parked in front. That was at 630 AM this morning. Is that supposed to tell us something?
I walked by the 7th Street entrance to the vacant space. Door was wide open and a couple of guys were on the inside working doing some metal sanding and buffing on a work bench. Total of about six workmen were in the space.
One of two things come to mind…either they’re starting some work again or they’re spiffing the place up so that the vacancy looks nicer.
Next time someone sees someone working in there maybe then can ask…would be awesome if we’re getting groccery store!!
OK – this is enticing! Can somebody ask somebody something? (ie – somebody in the “know”) – and then let us know?
Like the anonymous party pooper above, I won’t be holding my breath, but any movement at this point is welcome. I love how excited this group gets about a grocery store! Grocers, are you reading?
Not to be another party pooper, but I saw a Dharma Initiative logo on one of the work trucks in front of the space yesterday…
Balducci’s is BACK!!! Spoke to the workers this A.M. and they confirmed that Balducci’s was going to be occupying the space.
Once burned twice shy; so is it fact or fiction that Balducci changed its mind and is coming back? Construction worker comment is treated as hearsay, whether it is credible or not – if Balducci is coming back then why is the management treating it as Penn Quarter’s worst kept secret?

I walked by the place on Monday night and noticed that there seemed to be more “stuff” in the space. Not sure exactly what it was but it certainly looked like there had been some activity in the space.
