"Sand" In Gallery Place
Some residents may have noticed that parts of 6th St NW and F St were blocked off last night. To the untrained eye, one might think that a water main had been broken, and backhoes and dump trucks were on hand to dig up the street.
As it turns out, those dump trucks were hauling tons of sand onto the Verizon Center floor for the Washington International Horse Show that kicks off tomorrow.

I look forward to the show every year–it’s not very often that you can see horses in stables in the middle of the District. You can also watch the riders warm up the horses in staging areas before they go inside the Verizon Center.
