Posh Is Opening For Dinner
Greg writes in to let us know that the Posh Restaurant & Supper Club (730 11th St, NW) is showing up on OpenTable. Sure enough, another source confirmed that it will open tonight (Friday). It is housed in the restaurant formerly known as Ortanique and the first table we could find on OpenTable was on Tuesday, October 31 at 7 pm. If you go, let GP Living know.

Go and introduce yourself to the site manager and ask those questions. There are specific guide lines for the building/trade industry.
It depends on the zoning. I’m pretty sure that loud construction isn’t supposed to begin before 7am.
I think it’s 7am on weekdays, later on Saturday, and not allowed on Sunday. You’d have to double check the ordinance though.
I hope others provide this person good info. Personally, I would walk over to the Chinatown Police office on H Street (entrance is by the Sun Trust bank) and introduce myself to the officers on duty. They should be able to help you out. When you call 311, these are the officers who will be called anyway. 6:30 am is not allowed unles they have a permit. If you are unsatisfied, contact the City Councilman’s office and Adrian Febty’s office. Keep notes of all of your conversations. try and identify the exact address of the constrcution, and the names of the contractors making the noise. More detail is helpful. You can also ask DCRA to show up at 6:30 am on the weekends–but, good luck with that. i also reccomend getting your neighbors and buidliong manager/Board to voice complaints-there is strength in numbers. Please report back to the blog how it goes. Fight the noise!!!! We don’t go to their homes and wake up their families at 6:30 am on the weekends!!!
Let me start by saying I cannot comment on the food; however, I went with a group of colleagues to Posh for Happy Hour and we all thought the new decor was overdone and cheesy — think Disney. The live piano player is an extremely nice touch, one more restaurants should follow in DC to set the mood. However, the piano player intermittently stops playing and obnoxiously loud and annoying movie clips cut in that are played on the big screen above the bar. While Posh has some good ideas, it just doesn’t come together.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
This is unrelated to the Posh opening but relevant to the blog. What are noise ordinance rules in regards to builder’s noise (specifically, across the street from 450 Mass Ave NW)? They typically start construction banging and hammering at 630am even on Saturday and Sunday which always wakes me up. Who should I contact for such a complaint? Is it even warranted?
Thanks!!
