Every Day Is Inauguration Day In Downtown DC
If your goal is to catch a glimpse of President Obama, there is no need to wake up early and stand in lines for hours in the cold, like many did for Tuesday’s Inauguration.
Yesterday, while most Washington DC visitors were leaving the city and waiting in more lines at area airports, DC artists Dana Ellyn (a PQ resident) and Matt Sesow (of Adams Morgan) were walking from the Penn Quarter to the Trader Joe’s in Foggy Bottom. During their trek, police officers suddenly appeared and started blocking off streets. It was only a matter of seconds before someone important drove by. While one never knows who is being escorted in any given motorcade, this time Matt & Dana were treated to their very own Inaugural Parade. No tickets, no security lines, just another day in the life of a downtown DC resident!
Thanks to Matt Sesow for the pics! Note: Some parts of the image have been digitally enhanced.

the new limo is pretty recognizable… it reallly is a Beast! …the motorcade cruised right by my place several times while the first couple were jetting between Balls Tues night… we just stepped onto the stoop…and welcomed them to the neighborhood with a raised glass!
