I found the answer to my own question:
From the newsletter of the church that used to be there:
“FINANCING FOR 10TH AND G FALLS THROUGH
We were disappointed to learn this week that the long
awaited financial backing for the development at 10th
and G has not come through. A primary potential lender
backed out just when it looked as though their conditions
had been met and the deal would move ahead. This
economic wilderness is affecting the entire world and
many people are losing jobs and suffering a great deal. It
is not apparent how and when things will turn around.
We have every confidence that PNHoffman/ERBacon
will continue to use all of their resources and contacts to
line up financing.
We must keep the faith that we own a valuable asset and
that someday economic conditions will improve and
lending will begin again. FCUCC/PNH/ERB will be
among the first in line, ready to spend money to put
people back to work on a project that is ready to go.
Even GM and Ford don’t seem to be able to make that
claim!”

wow, that is big news – and certainly a sign of the times.
heck, perhaps it will rain a lot and we’ll have a neighborhood swimming hole!
just kidding…this is not good for the ‘hood.
Speaking of signs of the times, I just got an e-mail from a club promoter that Indebleu is soon going to be history. The e-mail follows:
Your last chance to party at IndeBleu, before they close their doors forever!
Thursday Feb 12th 2009 you are invited to attend IndeBleu’s closing party. Ladies enjoy open bar from 1030 – 1130 and complimentary admission all night with guest list.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
What is happening at the 10th and G spot downtown?
They tore down the walk way today. That does not seem to be a good sign for them filling that hole they dug with a building.
