Cuba Libre Restaurant To Open At 9th & H St NW
Thanks to Karl for sending us a pointer to this metrocurean post! Cuba Libre signed a lease for the space at 799 9th St NW. This will be their 4th restaurant and will contain 200 seats and a large patio. It is scheduled to open next spring.

799 9th Street NW is next to Oya and is the entrance to the lobby of an office building, so I don’t understand where this new restaurant is going.
I think there’s a vacant retail spot right on the corner of 9th and H in the US Mint office building (NE corner of the intersection). Is that their spot?
I’m probably a little too excited about this coming to DC, but I don’t care. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Philly, so come next spring I’ll be bugging/dragging some friends to CL
Yes, there is a vacant spot on the corner of 9th & H in the US Mint building. That’s where Cuba Libre will be located.

Is this the space formerly held by Murali (and anticipated to be Ray, of the Oya and Sei group)? Or somewhere else in the Renaissance complex?
