Amorini Panini Opens Next Monday! (9/27)

Posted by gpliving
September 22, 2010

Amorini Panini’s facebook page has a daily countdown until their opening day, and that day will be next Monday (9/27)!  The page also mentions that there may be some soft opening dates, but there are only 5 days left until the opening and no soft opening has been announced.  We’ll send out a tweet if we become aware of a soft opening!

Filling out one of the last available storefronts on the 900 block of F St, Amorini Panini offers hand-crafted artisan bread baked fresh daily, the finest quality meats & cheeses, and Paninis that are grilled to perfection.  Poised to become a go-to lunch spot for nearby office workers, Amorini Panini’s very close proximity to Penn Quarter residents (in the space directly above the panini shop), the International Spy Museum, Smithsonian American Art & Portrait Gallery, Verizon Center and the Marriot Hotel lends credibility to the idea that the panini shop will enjoy operating hours well into the evenings and weekends.  However, location is not everything.  As seen with the trendy McDonalds at 9th & E St NW that enjoys only mediocre business, a Penn Quarter food option needs to pair nicely with the nearby clientele.  Amorini Panini’s menu features breakfast and lunch paninis, including the F Street Club and Penn Quarter Turkey, and also offers a half-soup, half-panini option, which has been a smashing success with competing national chains.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

We are very excited to bring the flagship Amorini Panini to the Penn Quarter and DC and meet all of our new neighbors!

Our soft opening is Monday, the 27th. We are waiting for our media blitz until later in the week. The grills are fired up and ready to deliver The Panini…Done Right.

Special thanks to Penn Quarter Living.

Your Neighbors,
Amorini Panini

Rich: Thanks for writing in! Looking forward to having a panini on Monday.

Very excited about this! But “one of the last available storefronts on the 900 block of F St”? Really? Seems like there are plenty of empty storefronts remaining on that block, unfortunately.

I welcome them to the neighborhood with open arms (and open mouth).

I am sad to see though that there is only one vegetarian sandwich on the menu. Meat, meat and more meat. I’m sure the traditional Caprese will be delicious but a few creative vegetarian choices would be nice. Maybe they will take special requests and make a panini using the vegetables they have on hand for the other sandwiches (asparagus, peppers, onions, and the other cheeses). Just a thought…

Are the soups (tomato bisque, cream of broccoli and/or fire roasted vegetable) vegetarian? I ask because often times they have chicken or beef stock as a base.

Thanks & welcome!

Rich Twilley – Welcome to the neighborhood! What are you hours going to be? Can’t wait!

Comment by Amorini Panini on September 24, 2010 @ 7:39 am

Thank you everyone for writing in.

We will have seasonal Paninis as well to bring in new and exciting Paninis – extra tasty of course.

Organic Tomato Bisque & Fire Roasted Vegetable are vegetarian. The Organic Tomato Bisque is also gluten free and the Fire Roasted Vegetable is: gluten free, dairy free, low fat, and vegan.

Our tentative hours will be:
Monday-Friday – 7am-8pm
Weekends – 9am-8pm

Looking forward to seeing everyone

Amorini Panini

Fresh bread baked daily! Yess!!! I hope you’re open on the weekends too.

Comment by pqnonymous on September 24, 2010 @ 10:44 am

Wahhhh, too much meat.

MORE MEAT FOR ME.

Comment by Clara Barton Dweller on September 24, 2010 @ 11:16 am

I second the request for more vegetarian options please!! :)

Comment by muckraker on September 24, 2010 @ 11:48 am

Oh, it’s all meat? I won’t bother. Too bad.

Comment by gpliving on September 25, 2010 @ 11:00 am

Kevin: That depends on your perspective. Considering that 4 years ago, the Carroll Square retail row was entirely vacant (as well as the 950 F St development on the south side), we’ve come a long way.

Comment by Arch on September 26, 2010 @ 10:25 am

@gpliving thx 4 clarifying. I was walking along f street and noticed that there are still plenty of vacant retail spaces. Since most activity is around woodies bldg, Banana Republic should move down a couple of blocks.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
