Commerce Bank Sees Green As TD Bank
Back in March of 2008 Toronto Dominion Bank acquired Commerce Bankcorp (which has a branch on 7th & I NW). Commerce is well known to many for the Regis & Kelly commercials, or their weekend hours, or perhaps the fact that your dog can bank with you.
Although they’ve been operating in the PQ since June, the branch at 901 7th ST NW never had a grand opening. That changed this past Friday as they had a big opening & rebranding to much fanfare. Now called TD Bank, they’re all about green (“the color of money” we were told). Press releases state that although they’re now called TD Bank, they will still maintain the brand as “America’s Most Convenient Bank.” We hope that’s true, it’s a place we bank precisely because we can visit them on the weekend with our canine companion.

Having used most of the local banks, TD/Commerce is about the best. Everything is free, I like that I get unlimited refunds of ATM fees and they are open every day. I highly recommend them and was very happy to see them open in our neighborhood.

I needed something notarized; they did it free of charge. Usually I have to pay a few bucks for this. Plus they count your change for free too (don’t know if they do this for non account holders though.)
My regular bank (Bank of America) didn’t have a notary.
