Construction Stories
Construction still abounds in Gallery Place and a lot of it is near residential units. Some of the active sites include an office building at 6th and G St, an office building at 9th and E St and residential construction along Mass Ave. We thought we’d simply provide a place today for people to share anything they wish to about how the construction has affected them.

I recently came across this post about the Bible verses written on the blue tunnel outside the 777 construction site.
I have complained about it on this blog before, but the Reynolds Center/Patent Office Bldg construction that still continues with the courtyard ranks among the most disruptive projects. For nearly seven years, they have stolen our sidewalk on 7th Street, in the midst of some of the heaviest pedestrian traffic in the city. I’ve never understood why DC allows construction to close the sidewalk, when 80-story skyscrapers are built in Manhattan without ever stopping pedestrian traffic. A shanda!
My problem is that they know what they are doing and don’t care. Construction always begins well before 7am. It begins just as early on Sat and Sun (5 or 6am). The police don’t do anything. 311 doesn’t do anything. Talking to the workers doesn’t do anything.
Who will do something?

The 3 garages zoned commercial I bought 10 years ago for 20(for 3) a developer wants to pay 35 for each but that doesn’t include air right potential. So, thank you for all the construction.
