Cribs V: Penthouse On Penn
Normally, we like to have a little eye candy in the form of visual tours or photos for the Cribs post series but unfortunately we won’t this time. That means there must be a special reason for pointing out a new real estate listing and believe me there is. We’ll have to entertain you with the description only as follows:
A Penthouse condo on Pennsylvania Ave., overlooking DC’s landmarks: Smithsonian Castle, Washington Monument and the neo-classical buildings on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Unit features a 74′ balcony, two full bedrooms with walk-in closets, cedar closet, gourmet kitchen. Also features marble hallways leading from a circular foyer.
The Market Square is a full-service luxury building with roof-top pool.
The condo is PH #20 at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue (Market Square), is registered in MLS (the Multiple Listing Service) as DC6596563 and it truly sounds smashing (as my English friends would say). The size listed on the realtor’s website shows 2200 square feet and the list price for this condo is…drum roll please…$1.85M dollars. That’s a record breaker as it is both the largest sized and highest dollared property we’ve seen up for sale in the Penn Quarter. The view must be a doozy.
Ed. Note: PQ Living reader Matt wrote in to point out that our first Cribs post featured an apartment that was bigger than this one (as they say on The Simpsons – doh!). He also points out that another Market Square apartment at 801 Penn Ave was listed for $1.9M in April 2004. Thanks for the correction and info Matt!
