It’s hard to believe that the holidays are approaching especially when nature hands Washington gorgeous weekends in the middle of November. But it’s true and we know it’s true because one of our favorite seasonal events, the Downtown Holiday Market, begins Friday, December 4 and runs through Wednesday, December 23. The details follow:
WHAT: Fifth annual Downtown Holiday Market produced by the Downtown DC Business Improvement District in partnership with Diverse Markets Management
WHEN: Friday, December 4 – Wednesday, December 23 – daily from Noon to 8 pm
WHERE: The sidewalk of F Street, NW between 7th & 9th Streets NW in front of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery

WHO: An eclectic group of over 180 exhibitors and artisans rotating on a weekly basis; selling a diverse array of high-quality gift items including fine art, crafts, jewelry, pottery, photography, clothing, tasty treats and hot beverages.
ENTERTAINMENT: A wide range of live, local musicians and bands will entertain shoppers. Jazz, swing, blues, reggae, bluegrass, klezmer, acappella vocals, brass and more create a fun, energetic atmosphere for shoppers.
GET THERE: The market is easily accessible by Metro at Gallery Place on the Red, Yellow, and Green lines; as well as by Circulator at 9th and F streets. SmartBikes are located on site. City Sightseeing will provide a free shuttle from Union Station to the Holiday Market. Additionally, parking is located nearby at the City Center lot at 9th and New York Ave.
