Downtown Holiday Market Starts Friday
Every year it’s gotten better…the Downtown Holiday Market is in its fourth year and it will begin this upcoming Friday, December 5 and run through Tuesday, December 23 from Noon to 8 pm daily in our very own PQ Plaza on F Street NW between 9th and 10th 7th and 9th Streets NW. My shopping list is not the longest in the world but I’ve been able to do all my holiday shopping at the DHM on foot without getting in a car, cab or subway. The rotating exhibitors bring in a wider variety of artisans and vendors than you’d get at a standing market. Call it the promise of city living coming true!
The 4th Annual Downtown Holiday Market returns for 19 delightful days, December 5 through 23, 2008, on the F Street sidewalk in front of the National Portrait Gallery between 7th & 9th Streets, NW. Bringing a unique and festive shopping “village” to the heart of Downtown DC, the Noon to 8pm market features more than 150 local artisans and crafters.
Hundreds of diverse gift items, such as jewelry, pottery, paintings, and textiles will be offered by 50 exhibitors each day. Check back as the exhibitors rotate and the selection of goods will vary daily. You’re sure to find something special for everyone on your list.

I was able to purchase several holiday presents for myself last year and even one for my wife. Looking forward to spending some time there again this year.
