The Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle is this weekend running both Saturday (June 25) and Sunday (June 26) on Pennsylvania Ave NW between 9th and 14th St NW. Saturday’s festivities run 11 am to 9 pm and Sunday’s from 11 am to 7:30 pm.
From a food perspective, BBQ teams are competing for the best BBQ and $40K in prize money, multiple food vendors will have booths set up, and lots of cooking demonstrations will be ongoing. From a music perspective, there will be two stages featuring 30 bands – EU will cap off the 12th St stage and Marcus Johnson will cap off the 14th St stage. The event map gives a good overall perspective.
Lastly, no food oriented event is complete without Oscar Meyer’s Weinermobile…that will be present too.
