Happy Labor Day!
Even writers need a break so we’re taking our own Labor Day holiday here at PQ Living to rest and make plans for our September calendar and beyond. Lots of good stuff going on in September including…
Arts & Film: Theater season resumes at the Woolly Mammoth or the Shakespeare Theatre. If you like getting outside, the Arts on Foot is coming up on September 13 and if you’re more of an indoor kind of person, then the DC Shorts Film Festival runs September 11 to September 18. The F Street artists are back too.
Retail: The long awaited Safeway at CityVista will open on September 12. Yes!
Housing: Construction progress continues at the Dumont and CityVista as those condo buildings are putting on their finishes getting ready for residents to go to settlement. The concrete skeleton of Ashton’s Judiciary Square apartment building is up to about five or six levels on its way to twelve (fourteen if you include two underground parking levels).
Commercial: The DC Government may award the development rights to the 5th and Eye parcel. 700 6th Street NW, an office building next to the Verizon Center, is topped off (or close to it).
