The Henri Coming To Former Chef Geoff’s Space (1301 Penn Ave NW)
The Henri (1301 Pennsylvania Ave NW) is short on detail but long on the orange ABRA application. The application has graced the front door as above since June of this year. DC Eater, our typical culinary source of information, doesn’t have anything about The Henri so your guess is as good as ours.
This is the former space occupied by Chef Geoff’s when it was housed in the building that was razed and replaced with the current glass box.
Starbucks At 7th And H St Closing On Tue, Sept 24 (800 7th St NW)
Thanks to an eagle eyed PQ Living reader, Lewis, who saw the above sign go up at the 7th and H St NW Starbucks we know that this outlet will be permanently closing next week on Tuesday, September 24. That Starbucks location has been there for as long as we remember being in Penn Quarter (almost 15 years) and longer. Starbucks store locator on its corporate site validates the closure.
Bakers & Baristas Soon To Become Vivi (And Adding Pizza) (501 7th St NW)
Bakers & Baristas (501 7th St NW) is closed this week so it can be renovated to serve coffee, pastries, and pizza. Eater reports that 8 to 10 types of pizza will be available. We peeked in and saw lots of work going on. The cafe will reopen on Monday, September 9.
