General Assembly Moves To Penn Quarter (509 7th St NW – 3rd floor)
The technology training company General Assembly moved to Penn Quarter taking up residence in the same building as the District Chophouse at 509 7th St NW on the 3rd floor. General Assembly offers classes in computer programming, data analytics, and product management.
Matchbox On The Verge Of (Re)Opening (750 E St NW)
Laborers have furiously been working to get the Penn Quarter E Street reincarnation of Matchbox open (750 E St NW). We walked by today and saw all the tables set and the window wraps removed so we’d say “any day now.” The H Street NW location closed last week after opening in the fall of 2006. We were there to cover that opening too!
Forward (801 9th St NW) Clinic Opening In Penn Quarter During Summer
DC’s first Forward (810 9th St NW) clinic is under construction on 9th Street on the ground floor of the US Mint building. This clinic touts a new model for managing one’s health and wellness with the tagline “Preventative Healthcare, Powered by Technology.” The clinic is scheduled to open in the summer of 2019.
Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association Breakfast Meeting (Wed, May 29 (Topic: Use of Public Space))
The District’s Associate Director for Public Space will speak at the May meeting of the Penn Quarter Neighborhood Association. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 29 at Clyde’s of Gallery Place at 707 7th Street NW.
