Seven Score & Five Years Ago
We hope our math is right. Today is the 145th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address which was delivered on November 19th, 1863. To honor this anniversary the National Park Service is hosting an event at the Lincoln Memorial today. Stop by at Noon, 2 pm, or 6 pm for an hour long program that examines Lincoln’s famous speech.
The event is free and you can find contact information on the NPS website.

Les Halles Parisian Brasserie Closes (1201 Penn Ave NW)
As reported by the Going Out Gurus, via DCist, the Washington DC location of Brasserie Les Halles has closed. Their own website hosts a thank you note. Last night was the last night of food service.
The reason for closing is a familiar one:
The restaurant couldn’t come to terms with the building’s management company over a new lease. “I had a very old lease that was negotiated way before Penn Quarter was where it was now,” said Lajaunie. He says that he would have had to double prices to afford the new lease, so he decided to close up shop.
