RSS FeedBar Louie Opening June 11th (pics)
We reported a couple of weeks ago that Bar Louie (701 7th St NW – Gallery Place complex) would be opening on June 10th. Cheryl wrote in with some new info, courtesy of KWynn at Chowhound. Seems that interviews were being conducted on-site in May and the representative mentioned a June 11th opening date. All exterior signage appears to be in place – check out the pics.
Also, Bar Louie completes the Gallery Place housing/retail/office complex – 100% occupied!
PS 7 Patio Happy Hour, Tomorrow
Not a person I know dislikes al fresco dining which makes PS7’s (777 I St, NW) patio opening party the evening of Wednesday, June 6, from 5 pm to 7 pm sound like a real treat. For ten bucks, you can get two house made hot dogs and a microbrew. This blogger can vouch for the yummy house hot dogs to be had from the lounge menu and expects no less of the patio served variety.
Men At Work – Piper Rudnick DC Moving Along
We took a brief look at the construction of the new headquarters for Piper Rudnick in November of last year. The facade is in place and completion looks to be on schedule; we look forward to the Fall 2007 opening of the building. Maybe it will help bring back enough business for a restaurant to open in the former Ginger Cove space across E Street. More DuMont Condominium Rumors (Hotel In The Works?)
Many may recall that about this time last year, there was a rumor going around that the DuMont condominium (4th & Mass Ave NW) development would not proceed. The DuMont sales team quickly responded by releasing a news release just to say that all was well.
Recently, the GPL mailbox received another DuMont rumor. This time, the info states that part of the DuMont development will become a hotel (kind of like the 555 Mass Ave/Hampton Inn pair).
We just want to stress that this info has not been confirmed. Maybe the sales team will set us straight once again?
