The beautiful building at the corner of 6th & F St will house the Harman Center for the Arts – an expanded stage for the Shakespeare Theater.
Ever since construction began on the building, the sidewalk on the western side of 6th St had been closed (along the side with the victorian building seen in the first pic). A few days ago, the fence disappeared and we have our sidewalk back!

The National Building Museum will host a Construction Watch Tour of the new Newseum about 1 month before it is completed!

Designed by the New York-based architecture firm Polshek Partnership Architects, the Newseum is located on a prominent site on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC. The glass-fronted façade reveals a soaring atrium space and exhibitions, as well as a 535-seat theater, an 11,000-square-foot conference center, and a residential component facing C and Sixth Streets. Peter Mitnick with Turner Construction Company will lead a tour of this 650,000-square-foot project scheduled for completion in May 2007.

Penn Quarter Street Closings On Sunday (Penn Ave NW)
The 19th Annual St. Patrick’s Day 8K will be closing parts of Penn Ave NW between 7:30am and 11:30am on Sunday, March 18, 2007. Refer to the map for specifics.
