Hotel Monaco Makeover (700 F St NW)
We recently visited the newly remodeled Hotel Monaco (700 F St NW). The guest rooms and event space have all been given a completely new look (Athens Room, pictured above). In addition, you may have heard, neighborhood favorite, Poste, will be closing to allow for a complete re-design of the space and dining concept. We certainly love the terrace for drinks on a summer night and hear they will be making this area even better!
Penn Quarter Austin Grill Closed (750 E St NW)
Per the posted signage, the Penn Quarter Austin Grill (750 E St NW) is now closed. We ate there the Sunday before closure and noticed the menus pulled off the exterior signage boards. This restaurant has been in place since the MCI Center era and predates the 2005 boom era of redevelopment.
