The Penn Quarter has its very own Wikipedia entry. Yes, it’s true. Visit the Penn Quarter according to the masses here. Our very own neighborhood is no longer sleepy and nondescript but is now vibrant and abundant.
Shaw Blog Explosion!
Maybe it’s because of the fall/winter months.. when people bunker down in their homes and light a fire in the fireplace while turning to the Internet for entertainment. Or maybe it’s because of the turn of events in local ANC politics.
Whatever the reason, several new blogs have popped up in the neighborhood of Shaw, just north of Gallery Place/Penn Quarter. The trend even has this blogger thinking about getting a pied à terre in Shaw.

Carroll Square Looking Good
The Carroll Square project at 975 F Street, NW, continues to look better and better as doors and windows are now in place in many of the ground level areas. The Downtown BID expects completion in 4Q 2006 and so do we. The Akridge project includes 165K square feet (sf) of office space, 15k sf of ground floor retail, 7K sf of artist studios, a 700 sf art gallery and 103 parking spaces. This building is the future home of Dewey Ballantine, LLP and we’re hoping to see leased retail space in this project to balance the very vacant retail space across the street.
