The Mid Atlantic Art News blog points us to a new opportunity for local artists. The project will replace the current “metamorphosis” art works on the Old Convention Center Site’s Art Walk (approx. H St & 10th St NW) with newly themed “drift” art works.
- Original Digital Images Wanted for Art Walk Project. The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities is seeking 12 artists to take part in a thought provoking large-scale outdoor exhibit entitled “Drift”, for the next phase of the Art Walk Project.
The Art Walk is located along 10th Street, NW between New York Avenue and H Street at the former site of the Old Convention Center which is now a parking facility.

Gallery Place/Penn Quarter residents voted in a number of different locations today. This blogger voted at the MLK Library and things went very smoothly even though there was only one electronic voting machine (compared to 10+ paper voting machines). In contrast to the election excitement, roaming the MLK library to find the voting room evoked a different emotion – that lower floor is a stuffy maze.
