Penn Quarter Living Turns Three
It’s hard to believe but last week Penn Quarter Living turned three years old. The first story was published on February 6, 2006 about the Chinese New Year celebration that year. Little did we know that that first posting would evolve into a daily update about urban living in the heart of the nation’s capital.
Our overriding goal is to provide the community with a useful, fun and interesting source of information about what is happening in the Penn Quarter and more broadly in downtown Washington DC. Whether you work here, live here, play here or plan to visit here, a huge thanks goes out to you, the readers, who provide us with great ideas, stories, announcements, tips and photos that allow us to be of service to the community.

This has become one of my must-read-right-away updates in my RSS reader. Thanks for the interesting posts.
Funny, the more things change the more they stay the same – looks like almost the same picture and stories from the 2006 and the 2009 Chinese New Year’s – picture of crane and story about the fireworks not going off
This is a nice site for the latest restaurant openings, etc. It seems that previous postings used to attract more comments and interesting community discussions. Not so much lately.
How about a community birthday bash? Only PQ residents (with one or two guests) invited!! Or just anyone – I don’t care!
As to birthday celebrations for ‘locals’ only. I work in PQ and live in Alexandria. I have a vested interest in the community; don’t shut me out.
Congrats, this site has been amazing in helping me connect to PQ and what’s going on around the neighbourhood.. It’s the model, I believe, of how the community can be covered that big media can’t. Great work!

Congrats.
