Penn Quarter – The Shakespeare Theatre wins the legal battle to stay on 7th St NW (400 block). The preliminary injunction is embedded in the story for some light reading. [Washington CityPaper]
Chinatown – Walgreens puts its first imprint on its to-be-opened location at 7th and H Streets NW. [The 42 Bus]
Mount Vernon Triangle – The Triangle offers up a bunch of updates including: a) the Calvary women’s shelter relocating (4th and Mass Ave NW); b) a new restaurant called Success where the old Fun Fair Video used to be (5th Street NW); c) the former Ledo’s Pizza building is up for lease (433 Mass Ave NW); d) the Carving Room restaurant is making progress (300 Mass Ave); and e) Tel’Veh Wine Bar starts up a bottomless brunch (401 Mass Ave NW).

Penn Quarter – We knew it would only be a matter of time before a drink incorporating grasshoppers showed up at Oyamel (401 7th St NW) to go along with their grasshopper tacos. [Washington CityPaper]
Downtown – Downtown DC commercial real estate is “crushing it” according to this article. Those leases which started ten years ago at $35 to $40 per square foot may now fetch rates as high as $200 per square foot. Wowsers! [Bisnow]
Real estate inventory is a bit low this holiday season so the Crib of the Week is taking a break this week. But, we do know what we will be pointing out in 2013 as we had an opportunity to visit the sales center for this new condo that will come online in about one year’s time. We’re saving it for 2013.
