PQ Building Permit Preview (717 6th St NW)
We’re going to provide a full building permit update on Thursday, but since one item is scheduled to be unveiled tomorrow, we’re posting this preview. The mystery update affects the former RnR space, which appears to be slated to open as a new club, named Muse.

HANG TEMPORARY BANNER OCTOBER 1, 2008 THROUGH JULY 1, 2009 MOUNT ON EXISTING EXTERIOR WALL
JEMALS ROCK LLC
We are slightly amused that a temporary banner is still considered temporary when it’s going to be for 10 months.

for permitting purposes often…temporary isn’t about “time”..its about “structure”
and i checked the link..im not sure how advertising for staff makes them trashy…
lets not prejudge anyone…

AGAIN with the negative reviews without even going to the business. Keep your conjecture to yourself and off this blog, please.
A REAL jazz club in the neighborhood could work very well. I hated R&R, but this sounds like it could be decent if executed with care. Good luck to the venture!
Maybe a little middle ground here….Yes, its a little premature to suggest worse than Platinum, but I do understand the concern.
I am not sure where the assumption comes from that it will be a Jazz club. If I were going open a Jazz club I might use the word “JAZZ” at least once somewhere on my website.
They describe themselves as and nightclub and are advertising for “promoters” which is often a red flag.
From their website:

I’ve been inside Muse and have seen what they’re doing. “Trashy” is not it, and anyone saying this is ignorant. The fact is, Muse will have different kinds of music on different levels of the building. Jazz will be one, repeat one, of the music venues. And as the evening goes on, particularly on the weekends, the music will change. Will you have a 24-hour jazz lounge? No. But it will be nice to have that some of the time.
Nobody — nobody — has the right to criticize this establishment which is investing hundreds of thousands of dollars without a firsthand account of what is going on. This armchair cynicism is too typical of mentally and physically lazy people who revel in trashing businesses that invest in our neighborhood.
Get some facts, cynics, or go away.
I agree they should be given a fair opportunity, but why shouldn’t people have the right to be apprehensive, particularly when the last two tenants in that space caused disruption and inconvenience to the residents on that block?
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
LOL. Looks like the “jazz club” Muse is nothing more than a trashy nightclub…

This will be way worse than Platinum.
