PQ Weekend Guide – It’s Cherry Blossom Time!
This week, we’re going to dedicate our weekend guide post to the National Building Museum’s Cherry Blossom Opening Ceremony (401 F St NW), right here in the Penn Quarter! Here are the details (also copied below). Just fyi, the peak blooming time of the blossoms is predicted to be April 1 – 4.
National Cherry Blossom Festival Family Day and Opening Ceremony

Opening Ceremony: 4:00-5:30 pmFREE. Drop-in program. All ages.
Join the National Building Museum and the National Cherry Blossom Festival® in celebrating the third annual opening of Washington, D.C.’s cherry blossom season. Make your own mini-tea house, watch a marching band and double-dutch jump rope team, try on a kimono, and much more. This year’s festival features hands-on activities, captivating martial arts demonstrations, and exciting indoor and outdoor performances exploring Japanese arts and design.
