Restaurant Updates: Potenza, Siroc & Wagamama
In addition to Vapiano’s and Cedar which we updated you on in the last few weeks, there are a few additional restaurant updates to report for downtown DC. If readers have any restaurant tips, send them to pqliving [at] gmail.
Potenza (1430 H Street, NW)
Talking with the chef and a little ‘Net research allowed us to find the website for Potenza, an Old World Italian restaurant that will open at the corner of 15th and H Streets, NW, in the Woodward building. Potenza comes by way of the same organization that brought Zola and Zola Wine & Kitchen to the Penn Quarter. What will it entail? Metrocurean gives you the latest details. When will it open? The Potenza website says March 9.
Siroc (915 15th Street, NW)
Further up 15th Street from Potenza between Eye and K, Siroc is also on the western edge of our downtown coverage area and is now open in the former Gerard Pangaud Bistro space on McPherson Square. The press release cites cuisine “influenced by Italian and Mediterranean tastes” built around “house-made pastas, innovative salads and entrees.” Street side dining will be available when the weather gets warmer and who doesn’t like dining outside in the temperate Washington spring season. Metrocurean provides a few more details too.
Hat tip to a friend at Greg’s List DC, a fun events listing site for DC (not to be confused with Craigslist), for this one.
Wagamama (418 7th Street, NW)
Thanks to PQ Living commenter SG, we now know that Wagamama corporate lists a target open date of May 2010 for the overseas Asian inspired noodle restaurant to start service in the former Olsson’s Bookstore space at 418 7th Street, NW. Construction on the space will start in January 2010. Give that PQ Living reader a contract! (Thanks SG!)

Where’s Panera going? I heard the corner of 10th & F in Carroll Square, but doesn’t look like much movement there.
i remember hearing 10th and F 12-18 months ago, but there has been no activity there so i assumed it had fallen through or was just a rumor. Would be great if it did come, but no indication anything is happening.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Anybody check in with Panera Bread to see if they have an opening date?
