We always like to see new businesses come to Penn Quarter and we’ve been watching tech startups occupy downtown spaces since 2008. The biggest company to start in our neighborhood to date is Living Social which has grown from a small office next to Hooters on 7th Street NW to having multiple office spaces spread throughout Penn Quarter and downtown. We’re glad to see another company called Social Driver recently occupy the 2nd floor of 406 7th St NW and set up shop above Hill Country.
From their website:
We’re a team of developers, designers, and marketers committed to helping you launch your next mobile app, website or social media campaign.
Our new offices are located in Penn Quarter at 406 7th Street. This thriving area of the district is home to Chinatown, the Verizon Center and now, Social Driver. We are extremely excited about this office space because we feel it signals a new chapter in the story of our company. Buoyed by our new physical surroundings, we are cultivating an office culture built on the same tenets we use with our clients, partners and peers. The open-plan spacious interior means we have a workspace that matches our ambition to grow and innovate, all the while continuing helping our clients get with the future.
Downtown has many attributes that startup tech companies can like to attract 20 and 30 somethings including easy access to public transportation, fun places to eat and go out, accessibility to a growing tech network in DC and surrounds, and a neighborhood buzz that is as good as any in DC.
Welcome to the neighborhood Social Driver!
