USDA Afternoon/Evening Farmer’s Market Opens Today (12th and Independence SW)
The afternoon/evening USDA Farmer’s Market’s opening day is today from 4 pm to 7 pm in the parking lot outside USDA Headquarters on the corner of Independence Avenue and 12th St, SW. Distinct from the daytime USDA market that runs 9 am to 2 pm, a number of vendors unique to the afternoon/evening market will make their appearance. This market runs through Friday, September 30.
This includes meat, eggs, vegetables and plants from TLV Tree Farm, mushrooms and honey from Good Sense Farm & Apiary, Dooney Rolls from Eat 170, small-batch specialty preserves from PinUp Preserves, fresh juices from Senzu Juicery, and craft chocolates from Undone Chocolate. Many other specialty producers including food trucks Ball or Nothing, Far East Taco Grille, Federal City Brothers, and Dirty South Deli will be present each week.
The USDA conveniently has seating as well as picnic blankets available in the adjacent Headquarters People’s Garden.
Check past the break for all the vendors who can make an appearance…
