RSS FeedWard 6 Family Day Tomorrow
Part of the Penn Quarter is in Ward 6 so we thought we’d remind everyone about the Third Annual Ward 6 Family Day and Celebrity Kickball Game taking place tomorrow, June 20 at the Rosedale Recreation Center (1700 Gales Street, NE) from 11 am to 3 pm. The host? Tommy Wells, Ward 6 Councilmember.
Events will take place as follows:
11 am – Rosedale Recreation Clean-Up begins
12 pm – Celebrity Kickball Game
12 pm to 3 pm – Pool opens and activities begin

Activities include: Capitol Hill Bikes free bike safety inspections and adjustments, celebrity kickball game, Washington Humane Society animal adoption and training, basketball games, face painting, moon bounce, cornhole tournament, horseshoes and live music. In addition, the pool will be open for the summer.
Sponsors of the event, include the Washington Nationals (mascot Screech will be there), DC United (mascot Talon will be there), Washington Wizards, Verizon, Washington Area Bicycle Association, CocaCola, Harris Teeter, Fresh Farm Markets and local businesses who have given gifts to be raffled off throughout the day. Both governmental and non-governmental agencies will have booths at the event with information about various programs and services, such as testing for blood pressure and blood sugar.
