Work Almost Completed At 901 E ST?

Posted by Columbo

On Saturday we noticed there wasn’t the usual construction work going on at 901 E St NW.  This time, rather than building something up there, they were bringing something down.  Namely, the scaffolding which has covered the front of this building for such a long time, is slowly being dismantled.

Walking by again this morning (Sunday) we could see the workers once again starting to take the scaffolding apart.  It will no doubt take a while to bring it all down, but is this the beginning of the end to the ongoing construction of this building?  Will Pew and the other non-profits soon be moving into their new spaces?

Yep. I work for Pew, and we’ve been in the building since December but will be moving to our permanent spaces starting next week. Very excited for construction to finish up, which should be sometime in June.

Maybe the “protestors” will now take their act elsewhere. Sure everyone has the right to speak their mind — but after while it becomes an exercise in futility and begins to impact the rights of everyone else. The protest is not causing the Union to gain jobs and is decreasing the quality of life for everyone who lives/works nearby. The “bucket drums” were bad enough but today they had cowbells. Enough is enough — Shut this protest down

If these protesters were as adamant about getting actual paying jobs as they are about protesting, they wouldn’t have to spend so many months exercising their rights. What’s the point? No one is taking their message seriously anymore.

Protesting IS their job. These guys are all over town picketing and protesting on behalf of anyone with cash. One day, labor relations, another day, animal rights. Maybe that is why they are ignored.
