Dana Ellyn’s Open Studio In Gallery Place!
One of Washington DC’s most successful and hardest working independent artists is also a Gallery Place resident. Painter Dana Ellyn will be throwing open the doors to her studio live/work space this Saturday August 12th from noon until 6PM. Dana is inviting anybody that wants to come to her place at the Mather Studios Building to meet the artist, see her paintings, and come view the results from her annual “31 Days in July” painting project. For the project, Dana created a unique painting on canvas for each day in July inspired by an article on the front page of the Washington Post. Dana maintains a webpage online at www.danaellyn.com where you can view her latest as well as a comprehensive archive of her paintings.

I am a female artist and appreciate the great lengths that one must go to in order to gain exposure to her work; however, perhaps listing a home address including apartment number right next to a link with pictures of the artist and allowing people into her home is not the smartest route.
She’s in a live/work studio and gives classes there too.
Without the address, how could you have an open studio?
Exactly, how is one to visit a studio without and address!
I don’t understand the comment “appreciate the great lengths that one must go to in order to gain exposure to her work”
Must be that Dana is doing better then the person who wrote these comments!

Sounds really interesting. Thanks for the tip!
