Thanks to both Tavio and Sam for passing along word of major new developments in fitness centers around Gallery Place.
Tavio summed things up nicely:
According to Washington Business Journal’s latest edition, VIDA Fitness is moving into Verizon Center, taking the former Discovery Channel Store space. VIDA Fitness will be a 25,000 square foot gym to include a Bang Salon, Pro Shop, and Health Bar.
Additionally, a 3-story, 20,000 square foot fitness center called Body Smith will be opening in Terrell Place on 7th Street in June.
All-in-all, the Penn Quarter/Gallery Place neighborhood will have 4 large fitness centers within a few blocks of each other. (Washington Sports Club at Gallery Place VIDA Fitness at Verizon Center, Body Smith at Terrell Place, and YWCA Gallery Place Fitness and Aquatics Center.

hmmmm… Body Smith @ Terrell Place? I wonder if it will be in the space that says CARR in the windows.
I wish something interesting would come into the space next to Juan Valdez (I think it has to be arts related).
