National Museum Of Crime And Punishment Departing Penn Quarter By October (575 7th St NW)
Hat tip to @eat_dc (Eat It All) who tipped us off early on that this news was brewing. Thanks @eat_dc!
The last day of operation for The National Museum of Crime and Punishment (575 7th St NW) in Penn Quarter will be September 30, 2015 according to its website. The Cop Shop, the retail store associated with the museum, is selling off all its goods as seen on a street sign outside the museum yesterday. The Crime Museum opened on May 23, 2008 and was one of the earlier entrants into the post 2005 real estate boom revitalization of Penn Quarter.
The Washington Post has the most insight on the story citing how it is that this departure came about. Other local news media outlets covered the story also including Washington Business Journal and Washingtonian.
