Civilian Art Projects Moves To Warehouse Arts Complex
The closing of Penn Quarter’s Apartment Zero also meant that the 3rd floor tenant in the same building, Civilian Art Projects, needed to find a new home. PQ residents will be happy to learn that they have just relocated a few blocks up the street at the Warehouse Arts Complex (1019 7th St NW). Also coming to the Arts Complex is a new neighborhood bar named The Passenger (1021 7th St NW).
DCist has a lot more details as well as some pics of the new space.
Love Potion No. 9
We finally got around to having dinner at Bibiana (1100 NY Ave NW) last weekend and had a great night out. Perhaps our favorite point in the evening came at the end of the meal. As we browsed the dessert menu (which included dessert wines & other beverages) we were intrigued by the house-made “Lemoncello for two.” When we asked about it our bartender produced a teardrop shaped bottle and two glasses.
Bibiana’s house-made Lemoncello was indeed excellent, but it is the presentation which is phenomenal. We recommend you pair the Lemoncello with cinnamon panna cotta or perhaps the tiramisu. We think it would be a great way to impress your date, or the perfect ending to a relaxing dinner.
Downtown DC Parks and Open Space Survey
Ever walk by Franklin Park (13th and K Street NW) and think “That would be a great spot for a night concert?” or ponder “I’d love to take baby out in a stroller and camp out on a blanket on Mount Vernon Square (8th and K Street NW).” The Downtown DC parks and open space survey is your chance to plug into the effort to improve downtown DC’s green and open areas. Register your concerns soon though…the survey closes Friday, November 13. The deets follow or you can skip to the link at the end and jump right into the survey:
The DC Office of Planning along with federal partners and stakeholders are examining access, availability, and programming for park and open spaces in DC’s Downtown and the emerging high-density neighborhoods north of Massachusetts Avenue. The objective of this examination is to understand what type of improvements will better serve Downtown’s workers and growing residential population. The examination will look at both how we can better use existing parks such as Mt. Vernon Square and the many triangle parks, such as Gompers Park, but also plan for new parks and open spaces in areas where they are needed. By completing this survey you will help us better understand how to plan for these parks to better serve area residents and workers. If you would like more information on this effort, please contact Thor Nelson at (202) 741-5241 or by email at: thor.nelson@dc.gov

Downtown Neighbor Meeting Tonight!
Yes, it’s that time again. Time to get out on a Tuesday night and meet your downtown neighbors at the monthly Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) meeting. Meetings start at 6:30 pm. Per Miles Groves, DNA President:
The final meeting for 2009 is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10 at Calvary Baptist Church at 733 8th Street NW. The lead discussion leader will be Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans who will brief attendees on neighborhood issues and take audience questions. He will be followed by Hadiah Jordan, and Associate with Justice & Sustainability Associates. Her firm is working with the Infrastructure Project Management Administration, a division of the District Department of Transportation, to manage the Downtown DCBID Streetscape and Streetlight project that received stimulus funding. Please RSVP to miles@milesgroves.com if you plan to attend. As usual, we will start with an update from our PSA101W officer, Lt. Craig Royal.
