Peruvian Connection Opened Last Week! (950 F St NW)
Thanks to Tom for sending us word that Peruvian Connection is now open at the corner of 10th & F St NW! According to the Peruvian Connection website, this Penn Quarter store is their flagship store!
The 900 block of F Street continues to fill up with more quality retail options! There aren’t many vacant street level retail spaces left. Does this mean that the Anthropologie would go in directly under the Ventana condo at 912 F St NW?
Co Co. Sala Now Serving Brunch (929 F St NW)
Sundays just became sweeter. Co Co. Sala at 929 F Street, NW, is now open for brunch [PDF] on Sundays from 11 am to 6 pm.
Thanks to LiveAndWorkInPQ for the tip.
Single Serve Moratorium Becomesing Reality
We don’t want to run down a laundry list of all of the provisions but we did want to alert readers to the not-so-new-but-important news that selling “single containers” of “beer, malt liquor and ale” is now will be prohibited in Ward 2 and 6 in the ANCs (Advisory Neighborhood Commissions) within the Penn Quarter. An emergency act went into effect was introduced on July 15, 2008 and is will be valid for 90 days post Mayoral approval. A second temporary act will extends the term an additional 225 days and it tacks on spirits in containers of a half-pint or less. A third bill will go through the public comment process which conceivably could make the law more permanent. Follow the last link if you want to get to the text of the bills online which we’ll leave to our intrepid readers.
Here are a few links where you can read about the details:

Final Week To Register To Vote!
This is a friendly reminder that we are in the final week of voter registration for DC’s primary election. Since many of the Distrct’s politicians run as Democrats, many of the highly contested races are settled in the primary election, not the general election. (i.e. this year’s Ward 2 Council position)
There’s still time to register to vote! You can go online to the DC Board of Elections and Ethics (DCBOEE) and fill out the electronic form. The website will then present you with a printable form that you must print and mail to the DCBOEE. All forms must be post marked no later than August 11.
