A New Washington Landmark
Well a new sign that says so anyway. We reported on the permit back in June for a new sign for Ollie’s Trolley, and recently it went up. We have a neighbor who swears by their burgers, in fact this neighbor has relatives who come into DC from Northern VA several times a month to eat there. We’ve had a few of Ollie’s chili burgers over the years, but had never considered it a destination burger joint. Shows what we know!
Restaurant Week Starts In Seven Days
Fire up your taste buds as DC’s Restaurant Week starts one week from today running from August 11 to August 17. The lunch price is $20.08 but the dinner price has been bumped up $5 to $35.08. Perhaps this was in response to restaurants feeling that they couldn’t provide an adequate dinner for $30.08. There is no shortage of downtown restaurants you can check off next week!
CityVista Safeway Unfurls Opening Date
The Safeway at CityVista made a date with the public last week and that date as unequivocally shown on the banner unfurled down the west side of their building facing 5th Street, NW, is September 12. Although 5th and K is thrown around as the center of gravity for the development, the entrance to this installation of the Pleasanton, California grocery chain is actually at the corner of 5th and L which now sports brand new sidewalks and lampposts. They’ve also put up the red lettered S logo along with the Bergmann’s Cleaners logo on the L Street side of the building.
Other nearby neighborhood Internet sites including Life In Mount Vernon Square and The [Mount Vernon] Triangle also mentioned the welcoming banner.
What impact will this have on our community?
