DC Shorts Redux Next Weekend
DC Shorts takes place in our neck of DC at Landmark’s E Street Cinema during the fall season. But, you don’t have to wait until the leaves start turning orange to enjoy the theatrics because the Goethe-Institute on 7th Street will host the Best of DC Shorts 2007 next weekend.
What: Best of the Fest – selections from the best of DC Shorts 2007

The Penn Quarter keeps getting sweeter! We just found out that a week ago Giffords started offering bulk candy for sale at $9.99 a pound. There are a wide variety of offerings that looked pretty good to our hungry eyes (all the office Halloween candy has long since run out). And don’t forget Giffords has an ice cream special on Mondays: $3 single scoop sundaes.
Relaxing Their Standards?
The Nissan Xterra with MD plates has been parked on 9th ST, directly across the street from the FBI building, for weeks now. You can see the parking tickets piling up on the windshield, bags & boxes in the backseats, and a coagulating Starbucks beverage in the cup holder. We assume the FBI has already checked it out & deemed the SUV to not be a threat, but with all the (over the top?) security measures in place in DC we’re surprised the SUV has been allowed to sit there for so long.
