As we had mentioned in May, the Textile Museum was in talks to lease the space at 421 7th St NW (former HTNB space). The WaPo has a story today explaining that the will open an exhibition space early next year on three floors of the building.

MetroPerforms! At Gallery Place For Evening Rush
From 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, MetroPerforms! offers its first Gallery Place station performance featuring Darryl Brooks on vocals and Allen Holmes on guitar. I wonder if the Chinese violin player or the dreadlock guy with the reverb guitar will feel badly that someone is playing on their turf (they both can be seen “on tour” at Farragut North).

Chop’t Creative Salad Co. In The WaPo (730 7th St NW)
From today’s WaPo:
- THINKING GREENS: The two young creators of the New York-based Chop’t Creative Salad Co., known for its focus on prime ingredients, have selected Washington for their first venture outside the Big Apple. As early as late July, the company’s fourth Chop’t is expected to start tossing greens in a former Marvelous Market space at 730 Seventh St. NW in Penn Quarter.
